Dr. Bo Gong, CAR AI Standing Committee member and Editor-in-Training at the CAR Journal (CARJ), has been appointed to the Radiological Society of North America’s (RSNA) AI Trainee Editorial Board for a two-year term that begins in January 2023. Call Out for a New Executive Committee Member to Join the Canadian Society of Abdominal Radiology (CSAR)
The CAR Affiliate Societies are an excellent way to network with colleagues in your subspecialty, and the Canadian Society of Abdominal Radiology (CSAR) has a fantastic opportunity to participate. CSAR is looking for one member-at-large to join its Executive Committee for a two-year term, renewable twice. The Executive Committee meets three to four times a year and works on ongoing projects. Announcing QUEST: Introduction to Lung Cancer Screening
The Screening team at the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (the Partnership) supports developing cancer screening initiatives in collaboration with a broad range of partners to improve quality and equity of screening for breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer in Canada. One of their main initiatives, the Canadian Strategy for Cancer Control, is to strengthen existing screening efforts and implement lung cancer screening programs across Canada. That is where the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR), with its successful history of a Mammography Accreditation Program became involved. Insights on Executing a Stellar Annual Scientific Meeting

It was another tremendous year at the Canadian Association of Radiologists Annual Scientific Meeting (CAR 2022), with dozens of engaging speakers, presentations, and social events, drawing in nearly 700 attendees for the virtual event. CAR 2022 spanned five days in early April and brought together members of the radiology community, comprised of a wide range of education and experience. As Dr. Michael Patlas knows, having served as the Annual Scientific Meeting Planning Committee (SPC) Co-Chair in 2017-2018 and as Chair from 2018-2022, successful events like this are long in the making and require diligent teamwork. As previously announced, the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) is redoing its diagnostic referral guidelines. Last released in 2012, the CAR imaging referral guidelines consisted of recommendations for 338 clinical/diagnostic scenarios over 13 sections: Breast Disease, Cancer, Cardiovascular, Central Nervous System, Gastrointestinal System, Head and Neck, Musculoskeletal System, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Spine, Thoracic, Trauma, and Urological, adrenal, and genitourinary systems. The Affiliate Societies had a stronger presence at the CAR 2022 ASM. Affiliate members had the opportunity to participate in live discussions around key topics facing their subspecialties in radiology in Canada and around the world. There were plenty of highlights and hot topics discussed by each society both on the Whova Community Boards and during the annual scientific networking meetings. Read More
