The above is a common response of physicians as a whole, not just radiologists, and yet negotiation is something that we all do every day, with parties ranging from members of our practice group, referring MDs, nurse/technologists/clerks, patients, administrators, government, vendors….and family members! And not uncommonly the party with whom we negotiate, at work at least, is equipped with considerable knowledge of the art and science of negotiation, putting us at a significant disadvantage.

Success: CAR 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting
From April 26-29, the radiologists from across Canada headed to Montreal for the CAR 2018 Annual Scientific Meeting. The theme Artificial Intelligence in Radiology: Present and Future was a great success and drew people to the meeting in record numbers. Dr. Jacob Jaremko – 2018 CAR Young Investigator Award Recipient
Dr. Jaremko is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiology & Diagnostic Imaging in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. He is a graduate of the University of Calgary where he competed a B.Sc. in Engineering (1996) and a combined MD- PhD (2003). Following his training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Alberta (2008), he took the unusual step of pursuing two separate and independent fellowships at prestigious institutions in Pediatric Radiology at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne Australia (2010) and in Musculoskeletal Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University (2011). CAR increasing educational offerings – wants to know what members are looking for when it comes to CPD

CAR and CRF partner with UBC Sauder School of Business to offer negotiations course for radiologists
Being a national specialty association allows the CAR to hear requests from radiologists in practice as well as medical imaging vendors. In multilateral conversations among the three groups — radiologists, industry and trade association — a recurring theme is dominating the exchange of ideas; that of getting the voices heard among hospitals, radiology departments, provincial governments and industry vendors to name a few, with the goal of improving imaging care for everyone.
