Pediatric Radiologist, Locum Tenens - Kingston Health Sciences Centre
Flexible choices of single or multiple weeks starting July 2023 – July 2024. The ideal candidate will participate in the reporting of all general pediatric radiology plain films, ultrasounds, CTs and MRIs, as well as in the performance of GI/GU procedures. Pediatric neuroradiology and pediatric nuclear medicine coverage is not needed. - Participate equally in provision of abdominal on-call services at the Vancouver General Hospital, University of British Columbia Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital.
- Teaching activities include undergraduate instruction and supervision of residents in diagnostic radiology and affiliated specialties. The Abdominal Imaging Fellowship Program is based at Vancouver General Hospital, and currently accepts six clinical fellows annually. In addition to teaching responsibilities to the fellows, there are many research opportunities available. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the section’s academic and administrative mandate.
- The candidate must hold an MD degree or equivalent
- The candidate must have completed fellowship training in Body/Abdominal Radiology (or equivalent).
- All applicants must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC).
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure in the province of British Columbia.
- University appointment at the University of British Columbia will be granted in the clinical stream commensurate with previous rank/experience.
- Candidates will have expertise in interpretation of general ultrasound, abdominal CT and MRI, diagnostic abdominal fluoroscopy and abdominal radiographs.
- Be proficient in ultrasound and CT- guided biopsy and drainage procedures.
- Be accredited and proficient in the reporting of CT Colonography examinations.
- Be familiar with the performance of MR fusion-Ultrasound guided prostate biopsy.
- Experience with 3T MRI, Advanced MRI, US and CT Techniques including MR or US Elastrography and Dual-Energy CT would be a significant advantage including research in these areas.
- Ability to interpret full body imaging would be an asset, not a requirement, in order to support remote Radiology service across the province of BC.
- Knowledge and research in AI would be an asset
