Medical students from the Université de Montréal (UdeM) crowned themselves RadGames 2022 champions, winning by just a single question earlier this month. Organized by the CAR’s Medical Student Network (MSN), RadGames brings together Canadian medical students in a competition of image interpretation.
Dr. Samir Ayoub is part of the RadGames organizing committee. Dr. Ayoub highlights the purpose of RadGames is to promote radiology in a fun and interactive way by allowing medical students to discuss and interpret images in small groups, enhancing their communication skills and improving their medical imaging and clinical reasoning. “We wanted to show the rewarding aspects of patient care through radiology by discovering diagnoses and making further steps in management possible,” says Dr. Ayoub.
Dr. Ayoub further indicates that events like these bring out the competitive side of players. “The competition is very fierce in a fun and challenging way. Out of a total of 20 questions, most teams had at least 17 correct answers. It was only in the final round that we were able to distinguish the winner – the UdeM.”
On behalf of the CAR, congratulations to the winning team from UdeM!
