Since 1981 the CRF has been supporting the advancement in medical imaging and cutting-edge radiology research. From the contribution of generous donors, the CRF has invested $322,000 over the last 10 years and delivered grants with the goal to enhance medical imaging and support the next generation of radiologists. These grants resulted in 11 projects published. Some of the more recent initiatives include: Adaptive Personalized Predictive Risk Model for Medical Imaging Radiation Exposure; Neuroradiological, Clinical and Genetic Characterization of New Forms of Hereditary Leukoencephalopathies; A Day in the Life of MR in Canada – Profiling MR appropriateness and utilization in Canada and the Dalhousie Leadership Workshop for Women in Radiology.
The CRF Board of Directors met earlier this month to discuss the evolution of the organization and next steps. The Board felt that there was a need to become more engaged with medical students and residents to support the future of radiology. There was also discussion around equity diversity and inclusion and investing in initiatives that promoted radiology.
“Supporting the Leadership Workshop for Women in Radiology was a good first step. The leadership exhibited by Dr. Daria Manos and her peers was stellar. The event provided the opportunity for women colleagues to share information and to learn from each other. We were very happy to be part of the success of this workshop and look forward to supporting future initiatives that focus on equity diversity and inclusion in the years to come,” said Dr. Bruce Forster, CRF President.
The CRF is grateful to its long-time donors and to new supporters through the 500 Club. This exclusive club is dedicated to inspiring radiologists to help increase the Foundation’s impact on imaging care and the Canadian’s radiological landscape. The CRF is seeking to increase its membership to the 500 Club.
