As a result of the pandemic, the demand for education opportunities and activities has increased significantly. This growing interest in CAR-led continuing professional development (CPD) from the membership and the wider Canadian radiology community has led to a new approach in the development and promotion of CPD opportunities. To steer the CPD Standing Committee in this direction, we are pleased to welcome Dr. Andrew Chung to the role of Committee Chair. He invites members to submit their interest to volunteer on the Committee by December 23.
Dr. Chung’s interest in CPD stems from seeing the value in lifelong learning, prioritizing investment in tools and resources that enable the sharing of ideas, and adopting a forward-thinking outlook that anticipates educational opportunities.
Dr. Chung looks forward to working with members of the CAR and invites you to join your peers and lend your expertise by participating in the Standing Committee. Committee members contribute to the development and delivery of educational programming and activities that address the goals, objectives, and the educational needs of the organization’s membership.
The focus of this Standing Committee is as follows:
- Promote lifelong learning across the continuum of the radiology community and build capacity in CPD
- Foster and support the development of innovative education tools that impact health outcomes
- Foster the collaborative development of research and activities in CPD
- Integrate quality improvement in CPD
This is an opportunity to work with a group of your peers from across the country to help plan the professional development calendar for the CAR CPD Program. Together, you can collaborate on strategies to disseminate education and develop comprehensive educational content to enhance radiologists’ knowledge and competencies in diagnostic and therapeutic medical imaging.
Please contact Julia Niles if you have any questions and are interested in being a part of this important national education program.
Please submit your interest by Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
