Dr. Silvia Chang - CSAR Career Excellence Award

Presented by Dr. Tanya Chawla, this award recognizes Dr. Chang’s extraordinary leadership as the inaugural President of CSAR and her lasting impact on abdominal imaging in Canada. Her pioneering role in establishing abdominal imaging nationally has strengthened both national and international collaborations, setting a gold standard in research, mentorship, and clinical practice. With over 125 scientific publications, 175 lectures delivered worldwide, and instrumental roles in key organizations, she has been a driving force in shaping best practices and inspiring the next generation of abdominal imagers
Dr. Jean Chalaoui – CSTR Award of Excellence

Presented by Dr. Carl Chartrand-Lefebvre, this award celebrates Dr. Chalaoui’s five decades of exceptional contributions to cardiothoracic imaging. He has played a pivotal role in advancing imaging techniques, modernizing medical imaging infrastructure, and mentoring future generations of radiologists. His leadership in digital transformation and commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration have had a profound and lasting impact on patient care, education, and research. Dr. Chalaoui’s unwavering dedication and influential work at the provincial, national, and international levels have left an enduring legacy in thoracic care across Canada and beyond.
Dr. Elka Miller – CanSPR Award of Excellence

Presented by Drs. Andrea S. Doria and Katya Rozovsky, this award recognizes Dr. Miller for her visionary leadership as President of CanSPR. Her work in establishing CanSPR’s subcommittee groups has fostered enhanced collaboration, resulting in numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing pediatric care and patient outcomes. Through her leadership, she has revolutionized diagnostic imaging practices, particularly in postmortem imaging and virtual autopsy techniques, setting new global standards. Her efforts in refining diagnostic imaging referral guidelines, advocating for diversity in radiology, and advancing pediatric imaging research have had a lasting and meaningful impact. Her involvement in programs such as the Anne G. Osborn ASNR International Outreach Professor Program has left a significant impression on radiologists worldwide.
Dr. Adan Sheikh – CETARS Medal of Excellence

Presented by Dr. Michael Patlas, this award honours Dr. Sheikh for his outstanding leadership, research, and distinguished service to CETARS and the field of emergency, trauma, and acute care radiology. As a member of the Department of Radiology at Vancouver General Hospital (VGH), he has been instrumental in advancing clinical practices, driving innovation, and enhancing patient care. With nearly 20 years of dedication, he has excelled in musculoskeletal imaging and trauma radiology, and pioneered advancements in medical 3D printing, significantly improving patient care and surgical outcomes. His remarkable teaching efforts have shaped over 112 fellows, residents, and students, while his prolific research portfolio includes 86 peer-reviewed publications, 234 presentations, and several groundbreaking projects integrating AI and advanced imaging technologies.
