CAR LMS dashboard

Are you looking to fulfill your Royal College Maintenance of Certification requirements? RAD Academy currently features over 20 interactive, accredited CPD activities, eligible for Section 3 Self-Assessment Program (SAP) credit. The Introduction to the Insights4Imaging CPD Program video takes you step by step through the process. Look for the Insights4Imaging tile on your dashboard.

Members of the CAR identify education as a primary reason for joining the association. We are addressing this need through continuous updates to our online learning platform, RAD Academy. As a benefit of membership, radiologists and radiologists-in-training have exclusive access to the CPD activities available on RAD Academy, featuring interactive, peer-reviewed, eLearning opportunities from global leaders in radiology on emerging trends and technologies as well as innovative ways to improve patient care through medical imaging.

Too Much on Your “Plate”? Spectrum of Pathologies Involving the Tectal Plate

Dr. Torres

“Come and learn more about the spectrum of pathologies that may involve the tectal plate on RAD Academy. This article features the anatomy of the tectum, common and uncommon pathologies found in this region and associated clinical symptoms. I myself was one of the lead authors with my colleagues Drs. Gandhi, Tsehmaister and Glikstein. This interactive eLearning opportunity allows you to keep up to date with the literature while fulfilling Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements through accredited CPD activities, that are eligible for section 3 Self-Assessment Program (SAP) credits.”

Carlos Torres, MD, FRCPC
Professor of Radiology at the University of Ottawa and Clinician Investigator, Ottawa Hospital Research Institute OHRI and uOttawa Brain and Mind Institute
CAR Board Member

Clinical Practice Guideline modules
Dr. Kirkpatrick

“The CAR Incidental Findings Working Group recently published our second set of guidelines in the CARJ, and an associated interactive learning module is now available through RAD Academy entitled Recommendations for the Management of Incidental Hepatobiliary Findings in Adults. This CPD module will guide you through our recommended algorithms for dealing with incidental hepatic masses found on both ultrasound and CT, with interactive case discussions afterwards that will help consolidate the information. The module also reviews the guidelines on the identification of hepatic steatosis and cirrhosis, the management of gallbladder wall calcification, wall thickening and polyps, and finally when to diagnose biliary dilatation. This CPD activity is a beautifully presented way to gain confidence in dealing with commonly encountered clinical scenarios while at the same time earning credit towards your Royal College Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program.”

Iain Kirkpatrick, BSc (Gen), BSc (Med), MD, FRCPC, DABR, FSAR
Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Manitoba and Section Head of Abdominal Imaging for Manitoba
Chair, CAR Incidental Findings Working Group
