The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) has launched a call to action for COVID-19 related ideas called the Plan to Mobilize Industry to Fight COVID-19. ISED is asking companies, clinicians and researchers to share innovations/ideas that could help in the fight against COVID 19. ISED is refocusing its funding tools working with the National Research Commission to expedite research to combat COVID-19. Investments will directly support businesses to rapidly scale up production or re-tool manufacturing lines to develop products made in Canada. It is situations like these that drive innovation out of necessity and any suggestions that can support the fight against COVID-19 in the short or long term are welcome.
Submissions from Radiologists are Welcome
ISED is looking for practical innovations to respond to the immediate needs of front-line healthcare providers as well as ideals that set our healthcare up for the future. Potential ideas may include how diagnostic imaging can help during the crisis. Examples could include the best use of resources, and how imaging can be positioned to follow patients after COVID 19 or how medical imaging can contribute to the learnings about this virus. You may consider providing suggestions for system efficiencies like a mobile scanner or virtual care.
