Despite some volatility for academic journals in recent years, the CAR Journal (CARJ) has maintained a steady degree of influence, reflected by the CARJ’s most recent Impact Factor. Thanks to the outstanding work of its volunteers, the CARJ increased its rank among similar journals and posted an Impact Factor of 2.9.
“Over the past five years, the CARJ has been able to triple its Impact Factor due to the tireless work of the Editorial Board who were able to attract first-class submissions,” remarked Editor-in-Chief Dr. Michael Patlas.
In addition to the respectable Impact Factor, the CARJ increased its ranking among other medical journals in its category.
“The Editorial Board is proud that the CARJ ranking improved to 60th out of 204 journals in the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Medical Imaging category,” said Dr. Patlas.
This new ranking is an upward move from last year when the CARJ placed 54th out of only 135 journals in the category.
While the category ranking and Impact Factor are great indicators of success, Dr. Patlas says the CARJ has momentum to boost these numbers even further, thanks to his team’s capacity to respond to submissions at a high rate.
“Despite a 200% increase in volume of submissions, the editorial team and reviewers maintain an extremely competitive turnaround time. Their pace is usually seven days from submission to first response.”
Congratulations on this great accomplishment to Dr. Patlas, the Editorial Board, volunteer reviewers, and everyone else involved in producing the CARJ.
