A radiology society from across the world has recognized Dr. Michael Patlas’ work in the field of emergency radiology by bringing him into their membership. Earlier this month, committee members of India’s Society of Emergency Radiology (SER) voted unanimously to name Dr. Patlas as an Honourary Member.
“This is in recognition of your contributions to inter-society collaboration of organizing and conducting continuing education activities,” said the SER in their congratulatory statement to Dr. Patlas. “We deeply appreciate your valuable contribution to the SER and look forward to ongoing collaboration between our respective societies.”
Dr. Patlas is grateful for the recognition, saying that it means the educational work of the Canadian Emergency, Trauma, and Acute Care Radiology Society (CETARS) is appreciated by the international radiology community.
“International collaboration is important to share knowledge and build bridges between radiologists and national societies,” he said. “I was very active in the American Society of Emergency Radiology (ASER) and chaired the committee preparing the Emergency Radiology Curriculum for the recognition of Emergency Radiology as subspecialty by the American Board of Radiology. It gave me an opportunity to collaborate with many colleagues across the world. I was invited to lecture at a webinar for the SER, and this invite started the collaboration between the CETARS and them.”
Congratulations to Dr. Patlas on this recognition and his continued international collaborations.
