In an effort to ensure that our members remain at the forefront of medical imaging healthcare and maintain as well as enhance their proficiencies, the CAR is working diligently with the Royal College to devise strategies for compliance with respect to the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements. In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, and the resulting postponement or cancellation of many medical education events, the Royal College acknowledges the challenge of obtaining sufficient CPD credits to meet the annual MOC requirements. As a fellow of the Royal College and in alignment with their partners at the College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Royal College will be waiving all MOC Program requirements for 2020; all fellows will now be on a six-year cycle. While no credits are required to be submitted this year, any credits submitted will be counted towards the current (now six-year) cycle. The Royal College will be waiving the traditional 40-credit minimum requirement for 2020. For more information, please refer to the latest FAQ: Impact of COVID-19 on 2020-21 MOC and dues cycles
The CAR is committed to the promotion of lifelong learning and has made education a strategic priority. Our emphasis on advancing, providing and supporting education and development opportunities for our membership and the Canadian radiology community at large is paramount to our success. As an exclusive benefit of membership, CAR members have access to these innovative eLearning opportunities from global leaders in radiology on emerging trends and technologies, through our online learning platform, RAD Academy. Log in to RAD Academy to access the latest video lecture on COVID-19 Chest CT Findings, stay up to date on your MOC requirements and complete one of the journal-based self-assessment activities, Insights4Imaging, eligible for Section 3 Self-Assessment Program credits.
In the coming months, we will be working on your behalf to increase our CPD offerings through RAD Academy. CAR’s learning platform is designed for members with content provided by members. If you have resources that you wish to share, case studies, a video lecture or would like to schedule a webinar, please contact the Learning and Development department at [email protected].
