The CAR is a membership focused organization. For the last 86 years, the CAR has strived to make its members more successful. The management of your membership dues is something the CAR takes seriously.
Governance refers to structures and processes that are designed to ensure accountability, transparency, responsiveness, rule of law, stability, equity and inclusiveness, empowerment, and broad-based participation. Beyond the standard third-party financial audit that we report to membership at the Annual General Meeting, the CAR regularly measures organizational performance.
The CAR is a member of both the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) as well as the Institute of Corporate Directors and keeps up with the latest standards in governance best practices. On February 23rd-24th, incoming CAR Chair Dr. Jana Taylor and incoming CAR President Dr. Ania Kielar, along with CEO Nick Neuheimer, attended the CSAE Annual Symposium for Chief Staff and Chief Elected Officers. The highest standard of governance is paramount to the CAR, and this is an investment in the right and proper stewardship of your membership dues.
