The influence of the CARJ among academic journals is rising rapidly, proven by the latest Impact Factor ratings.
The CAR is proud to announce the Impact Factor for 2025 is 3.7 – a sharp increase from 2.9 in 2024.

In the Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Medical Imaging category, the CARJ ranked 37th out of 212 international journals.
“There are no perfect metrics,” said Editor-in-Chief Dr. Michael Patlas, “however, the dramatic increase of the Impact Factor and advancing to Q1 in the category for first time in Journal's history reflects the growing quality of papers published by the CARJ.”
In 2024, the CARJ ranked 60th in the category, out of 204 journals, making the current ranking even more impressive.
Dr. Patlas says that it takes an entire team of people to realize this success.
“The CARJ owes its success to the authors trusting the Journal, the reviewers who volunteer their time to select the best papers, the stellar Editorial Board, and the small but mighty CARJ team of Casey Hurrell, Colette Laplante, and Courtney Green.”
While everyone involved at the CARJ is celebrating the good news, Dr. Patlas knows that the Journal can be taken to even greater heights.
“We are not going to rest on our laurels and will continue to publish cutting-edge research, high-quality review papers and CAR guidelines. The CARJ will continue its productive international collaborations with Radiology, European Radiology, and the Journal of the American College of Radiology.”
Congratulations to everyone involved in this amazing accomplishment!
