After carefully considering the evolving situation with the coronavirus (COVID-19) and following the advice of the Public Health Agency of Canada on mass gatherings during the outbreak, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our annual conference scheduled from April 16-19 in Montreal.
This was not an easy decision for our board of directors considering the impact that it will have on members and sponsors. As many organizations are implementing travel restrictions for staff attendance at large meetings and our members are needed on the front lines for the prompt evaluation of growing number of coronavirus patients, we feel that this is the most responsible decision. We are disappointed: the CAR Conference is an important annual event for the radiology community and we all benefit by gathering once a year to learn, share, and network, however, the health and safety of our members and stakeholders is our primary concern and we want to do our part to minimize the spread of disease.
We understand that this change may lead to a number of questions regarding reimbursement for conference registration. We will provide full refunds for all registrations. There is no need to contact CAR to initiate your reimbursement. Please note that reimbursements will be made through your original method of payment. We will process refunds as quickly as possible, but please be patient as they may take a few weeks to complete.
We would recommend that you cancel any travel arrangements you have made at your earliest convenience.
We will see you again in Montreal in 2021.
