Burnout in the radiologist community is real. It is serious. A recent CARJ article reported about burnout. MDFM has a keen interest in physicians wellbeing and working with the CAR to help offer resources to CAR members to reduce their stress and promote work life balance. The CAR has put a plan in place to reduce physician burnout. Some of the key initiatives that we will be collaborating on this year include an awareness campaign and learning as well coping mechanisms. This will be launched in April 2019 during our Annual Scientific Meeting in Montreal and will continue with a social media campaign, online learning through the RAD Academy. Additional details will follow in the months to come.
As you are likely aware the CAR has entered into a partnership with MD Financial Management (MDFM). We have recently had some inquiries from members residing BC regarding their eligibility to enjoy continued access to MDFM products, given that their provincial medical association is no longer tied to membership in the Canadian Medical Association. With the recent change in proprietorship, all physicians now have access to MDFM regardless of their provincial or national affiliation. By being a member of the CAR and due to our partnership with MDFM, we can make the process of connecting members with MDFM more seamless. Working with MDFM, the CAR will offer webinars, education and easy access to financial experts that will assist with life planning and wealth management. The CAR is eager to collaborate with MDFM and is looking forward to a long partnership.
