On January 25 the CAR board of directors are meeting in Toronto to discuss membership value for 2019. In the coming year, CAR members can expect some much-anticipated follow-up on ongoing initiatives. Notable examples include the Value of Radiology 2.0 and an additional artificial intelligence (AI) White Paper, which focuses on ethics, bias and legality in AI implementation. This year the Value of Radiology report highlights medical imaging in Canada and cost savings associated with a national investment in modern imaging equipment. We believe this information will provide tangible evidence for our advocacy effort in 2019/20.
Other topics on the agenda include the CAR’s advocacy strategy that coincides with this year’s federal election, slated for October 21, 2019. You can also expect to receive an update on the CAR board’s key messages.
We’ll share a detailed synopsis of the discussion and high-level takeaways following the January meeting. Stay tuned for more information!
