About the Position
The Cross Cancer Institute, in conjunction with the University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, is seeking a physician with dual certification in radiology and nuclear medicine to join the current group of 18 imaging physicians.
Strong skills in cross-sectional imaging (CT, MRI, and ultrasound), oncologic imaging, and general radiology are a requirement.
The candidate will report general nuclear medicine studies as well as PET/CT and PET/MR. Potential for joining the therapy team for peptide receptor radioligand therapy (PRRT) for those who are interested. An aptitude for, and additional training in, multimodality image guided biopsies and venous access procedures would be a bonus.
Job Duties
- The position is predominantly clinical but will include academic / teaching / administration components
- Candidates would have an academic appointment within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds / tumor boards to contribute imaging expertise to patient management discussions
- Function as a collaborative member of the oncologic care team, working closely with medical and radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide consultation and guidance on the use of advanced imaging techniques for cancer diagnosis, staging, and treatment monitoring.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with the level of training and experience and will comply with the agreement between Cancer Care Alberta, AHS and the Alberta Medical Association.
