Supporting CAR’s Advocacy
Informing the public of vital role of radiologists
Radiologists play a pivotal role in patient care; however, there are still many people who don’t understand their role, especially among the general public. To raise awareness and to help gain momentum on our priorities, the CAR has launched a Parliamentary Outreach Program (POP). We are inviting CAR members across the country to sign up today and make a difference in their communities. Included below is a link to register.
Once registered, CAR staff will contact you and provide resources to help you in your grassroots advocacy. Included is a POP Toolkit with everything you need to help you get started. You will also have regular touch points with the CAR and receive updates on federal priorities and the landscape. While we are working hard to support our members and improve patient care, we need your help. We are stronger together. The work that you do in your community will help to amplify the efforts of the CAR Board of Directors. Included below is a link to the POP Toolkit, an advocacy handout as well as other resources to help raise awareness for the essential role of medical imaging and the role of radiologist on the healthcare continuum.
Poster
The CAR created the Who are radiologists and how do they help patients infographic poster, which are displayed in major hospitals and centres throughout Canada. This is a patient facing resource that is intended to be placed in radiology departments and/ or clinics across the country.
Social Media
The CAR has three social media platforms in which we communicate with members and engagement with the public. We encourage members to get involved and partake in social media by “liking”, “reposting”, or “retweeting” messages from the CAR’s Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook pages: @CARadiologists.
