Burnout is a growing concern in the physician community globally. With an increasing ageing population, demand on the health system is increasing. This is particularly true in medical imaging in Canada. Many patients are waiting months for imaging. Radiologists are under pressure to keep up with the demand for diagnostic and interventional procedures. With an undersupply of equipment and health human resources, there is a lot of stress not only placed on our health system but also on the radiologists who read/diagnose these images. In an effort to raise awareness for this important issue, the CAR has commissioned Dr. Nanxi Zha, radiology resident, and Dr. Michael Patlas (McMaster University) to conduct a research project on burnout in radiology. This project will assess the main causes of burnout experienced by Canadian radiologists and trainees to identify the potential for improvements in physician wellness.
Dr. Zha and Dr. Patlas are asking all members of the CAR to participate in a short survey. It is estimated that this survey will take less than five minutes to complete. All participants will have the opportunity to enter a draw for one of five $50 Amazon gift cards.
**Please note, if you wish to enter the draw, you will need to provide your email address. Entering the draw is completely voluntary. Your email will be used only for the purpose of contacting you should you win. All contact information will be deleted immediately at the conclusion of the draw.
