Nunavik and the McGill University Department of Diagnostic Radiology are seeking a dynamic radiologist for a full time-position at the Nunavik hospitals (Inuulitsivik Health Center and Ungava Tulattavik Health Center). The latter will also be given an Associate Member position at the McGill University Health Centre and an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or above. As part of Nunavik’s contract with the MUHC, this position includes administrative responsibility for the management of the Medical Imaging Services in Nunavik (Québec health region 17). Most of the clinical assignment will be at the MUHC and will focus on thoracic radiology as well as general radiology at the Lachine campus. This faculty position will be under the contractual academic staff and does not confer tenure eligibility. The ideal candidate for this position would bring a combination of thoracic radiology and general radiology skills, and an interest in administration/management.
The successful candidate will be integrated into the Thoracic/Cardiac Imaging section of the MUHC as well as the Lachine Campus. Clinical responsibilities will include specialized thoracic practice (Montréal General Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital and Nunavik) as well as some general radiology practice at the Lachine Hospital (MUHC pavilion). She/he is expected to cover shifts in X-rays and CT (Emergency, Intensive Care and Outpatient) and to perform CT guided procedures (biopsies). In addition, the PEM-PRO position includes administrative responsibilities for the management of the Medical Imaging Services in Region 17, where there are radiology and ultrasound services. On-call responsibilities will be carried out at the MUHC.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to interact closely with referring clinicians regarding clinical work and multidisciplinary conferences (CTU, ILD, Thoracic Tumor Board and Respirology rounds). She/he will also be expected to teach technologists, students, residents and fellows and demonstrate a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all areas.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requirements
- Must be eligible for medical licensure in the province of Québec with specialization in diagnostic radiology.
- Completion of at least one year of fellowship training in Thoracic Imaging.
- Demonstrated ability to read general emergency radiology studies in addition to those in their area of subspecialty.
- Valid professional practice liability coverage through CMPA or equivalent.
- A reputation for professionalism and integrity.
- Good professional standing in all practice jurisdictions.
- Bilingual language skills (French and English) are required. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families and health care professionals.
