Job Summary The Diagnostic Imaging Program of NL Health Services Urban Zone invites expression of interest for two full-time Radiologists in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. All interested applicants are encouraged to apply. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established practice of passionate and highly skilled radiologists, while living in a medium sized city which offers a fantastic balance of outdoor activities, culture and a great food scene. The successful candidates will join a group of 10 Radiologists working at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital (SCMH). SCMH is the provincial tertiary care center for ENT, Breast, Thoracic and Vascular surgery and is also a teaching hospital affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland School of Medicine and their Radiology Residency training program giving opportunities for research and teaching to the incumbent. This radiology group offers a busy service in CT, MRI, US, Mammography, Angio-interventional, Fluoroscopy and General radiology, with a full scope of image guided procedures. The successful candidate will be expected to work as a general radiologist but not necessarily in all the areas listed above. If the candidate has additional specialty training in any field, these skills would be of an added benefit and utilized. There is a call expectation as well and responsibilities are shared with the Radiology Resident - Core services include general radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI and basic interventional radiology. Breast imaging is also provided as a service and would be open to candidates with appropriate training and experience. Ability to perform non-vascular interventional procedures such as percutaneous abscess drainage would be an asset. Fellowship training would also be an asset. Rotating coverage includes off-site home reporting. The primary location is Belleville General Hospital, which lies between the beautiful Counties of Hastings and the vineyard region of Prince Edward County. - An MD or equivalent and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
- Applicants should be Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by either the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or in the jurisdiction where they trained (if not in Canada).
- Successful completion of a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging prior to starting in the role.
- Demonstrate strong commitment to patient care, teaching and research, with the ability to provide a full range of diagnostic clinical services required of an MSK Radiologist. Must have interest in academic and community radiology, and previous experience in this environment is a distinct advantage.
- Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance and experience, as well as qualifications that surpass the requirements for the position.
