    Fellowship Trained Radiologists Wanted for Partnership Track Position in Victoria, British Columbia   VRCI is a group of 29 radiologists providing Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services with multiple partner organizations in the Greater Victoria area, British Columbia, including Island Health, BC Cancer and West Coast Medical Imaging. Our referral base exceeds 800,000 people, and we provide all the diagnostic imaging services for the greater Victoria area in British Columbia, Canada. This includes image interpretation and image guided interventional procedures at 6 Island Health sites, 2 private imaging facilities, and BCCA Victoria. We are also an active teaching site for the UBC Island Medical Program, and occasionally host senior Radiology residents for one month community rotations. Prospective radiologists should be comfortable providing a general radiologist level of interpretation in radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Basic procedural competence in non-vascular image guided interventions is an asset, or a willingness to retrain in some of these skills on the job. Scope of procedural skills expected of a general radiologist (some of these could be retrained on site):
  • Ultrasound guided biopsies and drainages
  • CT guided soft tissue biopsies and drainages.
  • CT guided lung biopsy
  • Basic MSK Fluoroscopic Interventions
  • Hysterosalpingograms
  • Basic GI Fluoroscopy
All successful candidates must have:
  • FRCPC Certification in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
Work expectations:
  • Participation in after-hours call coverage (approximately 12 weekends per year and 20 weeknights per year)
  • 10 weeks annual vacation for associate members
  • Participation in a subset of multidisciplinary clinical rounds targeted to an area of subspecialty expertise.
Fellowship Training: Candidates with subspecialty fellowship training are preferred, however experienced general radiology candidates without fellowship training may be considered. We are a growing group and will consider candidates with a wide variety of subspecialty training. Areas of identified need in our practice:

The Department provides regional diagnostic imaging and interventional programs and has strong relationships with community hospital partners. The Department is undergoing academic transformation and is hiring a new faculty position for a radiologist with expertise in Musculoskeletal Imaging. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in a blended academic practice that spans the academic - community hospital continuum. Position Profile: The successful candidate will be appointed in a full-time limited term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Medical Imaging at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. In addition, the successful candidate will provide clinical services for London X-Ray Associates (“LXA”) and take an active role in the Citywide Musculoskeletal Imaging Subspecialty Division and must be dedicated to outstanding quality in clinical operations, demonstrate leadership, teaching and research abilities. The successful candidate will have completed a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and must have an interest in academic and community radiology. The academic component of this position is predominately located at St. Joseph’s Health Care London and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, with some academic/clinical service also provided at London Health Sciences Centre. The community practice includes several community hospitals and Independent Health Facilities (IHFs) operated by LXA. One day of protected academic time to support research and teaching is provided. The citywide Musculoskeletal Imaging Division provides a full complement of diagnostic and interventional MSK procedures and is comprised of 9 radiologists based at St. Joseph’s Health Care London and London Health Sciences Centre. Duties The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • provide a full range of diagnostic services required of a Musculoskeletal Radiologist including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT and MRI;
  • participate in image guided MSK procedures such as diagnostic/therapeutic injections and biopsies;
  • Participate in general radiology on-call.
  • Participate in general radiology in LXA clinics and community hospitals outside London.
The successful candidate must be interested in pursuing a strong academic career and will be expected to actively participate in the Department of Medical Imaging’s academic, research and education initiatives including teaching and supervision of undergraduate, and postgraduate trainees and fellows. Qualifications The successful candidate must have the following:
  • An MD or equivalent and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
  • Applicants should be Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by either the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or in the jurisdiction where they trained (if not in Canada).
  • Successful completion of a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging prior to starting in the role.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to patient care, teaching and research, with the ability to provide a full range of diagnostic clinical services required of an MSK Radiologist. Must have interest in academic and community radiology, and previous experience in this environment is a distinct advantage.

Our Nuclear Medicine Team consists of 5 dual trained physicians FRCPC certified in both Radiology and Nuclear Medicine who participate both in general radiology portion of our practice, as well as dedicated rotations in general nuclear medicine and therapy in Island Health and PET/CT interpretation for BCCA Victoria. Our referral base exceeds 800,000 people, and we provide all the diagnostic imaging services for the greater Victoria area in British Columbia, Canada. This includes image interpretation and image guided interventional procedures at 6 Island Health sites, 2 private imaging facilities, and BCCA Victoria. We are also an active teaching site for the UBC Nuclear Medicine Program, and occasionally host senior Nuclear Medicine residents for one month community rotations. Scope of General Nuclear Medicine Practice:
  • Coverage of 5 gamma cameras providing a range of studies
  • Cardiac myocardial perfusion image interpretation (stress supervision performed by internal medicine)
  • I131 therapies for benign indications and thyroid cancer (could be retrained on site)
  • Radium 223 Xofigo therapy consultations (plans to expand to Lu-177 PSMA soon)
Scope of PET Practice:
  • 25 FDG-PET/CT cases per day for oncologic indications
  • Plans to expand to include Ga-68 PSMA and DOTATOC PET in the next 12-18 months.
  • Workload on a daytime PET rotation is 15 cases, with adjustment for rounds commitments.
  • Additional PET volume is read on diagnostic radiology and Nuclear Medicine shifts as part of work productivity expectations.
Scope of General Radiology Practice: We recognize that some candidates may be coming from a center where their scope of practice is narrower outside of Nuclear Medicine. Our Nuclear Medicine physicians operate on a variety of clinical rotations outside of Nuclear Medicine for approximately 50-60% of their shifts and participate in Radiology call. We are open to retraining candidates in some areas of radiology practice they are less comfortable with on the job if they are motivated. Prospective radiologists should be comfortable providing general radiology level of interpretation in radiography, ultrasound, CT and MRI. Academic Diagnostic Neuroradiologists - London The Department of Medical Imaging, Division of Neuroradiology, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, at Western University, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care is seeking two Radiologists for two full-time clinical academic appointments to Western University. Rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) and appointment status (limited term or continuing) will be determined by experience and qualifications at the time of appointment. The Department of Medical Imaging at Western University is an integrated, city-wide, sub-specialty practice across three Hospital sites; University Hospital (UH) and Victoria Hospital (VH), collectively known as the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), and St Joseph’s Health Care London (St. Joseph’s). As the only Academic Health Sciences Centre in the second largest Local Health Integration Network in Ontario, the Department provides multiple regional services to a population of >2M. There has been recent renewal of the diagnostic and interventional (CT, MR, Angiography) imaging fleet, including recent and ongoing installation of 3 new 3T MR scanners, 3 new 1.5T MR scanners, 6 new 320-slice CT scanners, 3 new biplane angiography units among other units. The institution also features the nation’s first 0.5T clinical MR scanner and dedicated neuro-imaging CBCT unit. As such, there are abundant opportunities for an enthusiastic radiologist to contribute to the continued building and advancement of an integrated, multi-disciplinary and collegial Academic Medical Imaging Department in Diagnostic Neuroradiology. Neuroradiology: Division Head – Sachin Pandey The successful candidates will join a division of 12 neuroradiologists. The division performs the full complement of modern neuroradiology. In addition to the full spectrum of adult and pediatric diagnostic neuro-imaging (CT, MRI, U/S), the division also provides comprehensive percutaneous spinal intervention. Prior training, or a demonstrable track record in a subspecialized area of neuroradiology such as pediatric and/or functional neuroradiology will be considered a bonus in support of our growing program. The division has a long history of multi-disciplinary research, with robust established relationships with all relevant clinical neuro-disciplines. Additionally, there is a long tradition of training both residents and advanced fellows, with an uninterrupted record of training sub-specialty fellows of >40 years. To that end, a track-record of education and research excellence is a necessary pre-requisite. Qualifications: The successful candidates will hold certification in Diagnostic Radiology with the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent and will need to meet the current credentialing requirements of LHSC and St. Joseph’s. Candidates must have an MD, or equivalent, and must be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario. Subspecialty Fellowship training in diagnostic neuroradiology is required, with a preference for ≥2 years of subspecialty training. General Radiologist: Full-Time and Locum Quinte Health is seeking two well-diversified full-time/permanent general radiologists as well as a locum to join the Department of Diagnostic Imaging (DI) and its team of 13 radiologists. Core services include general radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI and basic interventional radiology. Breast imaging is also provided as a service and would be open to candidates with appropriate training and experience.  Ability to perform non-vascular interventional procedures such as percutaneous abscess drainage would be an asset. Fellowship training would also be an asset. Rotating coverage includes off-site home reporting. The primary location is Belleville General Hospital, which lies between the beautiful Counties of Hastings and the vineyard region of Prince Edward County. On-site presence is also provided at Trenton Memorial Hospital. All candidates must be RCPSC certified and fully licensed. Quinte Health has 1,800 staff members and 380 medical staff who provide a wide range of high- quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents. Environ 180 000 examens (radiographie, CT, US, IRM) sont effectués chaque année au sein du département. L'Hôpital général juif a récemment élargi son empreinte avec l'ajout du Pavillon K et l'hôpital compte plus de 600 lits. L'Hôpital général juif (HGJ) est un grand hôpital universitaire affilié à la Faculté de médecine et des sciences de la santé de l'Université McGill, de renommée internationale, située dans la ville dynamique et multiculturelle de Montréal, dans la province de Québec. Fonctions Les responsabilités du candidat retenu incluront des activités cliniques, d'enseignement et de recherche au sein du département de radiologie diagnostique, qui se compose d'un groupe dynamique de quinze radiologues formés à l'aide d'un fellowship, soutenant le mandat de l'HGJ de fournir des soins de haute qualité centrés sur le patient. La pratique à l'HGJ consiste en une radiologie générale avec une formation et une interprétation spécialisées. Le candidat retenu doit être capable d'interpréter des radiographies simples, des US, des CT (y compris l'imagerie cardiaque), des colonographies virtuelles, l'imagerie mammaire et des examens IRM (c'est-à-dire MSK, abdomen, Neuro/ENT, prostate et IRM cardiaque). Le candidat retenu devra participer aux gardes du soir, aux procédures d'intervention non vasculaires, ainsi qu'aux astreintes (par exemple, astreinte diagnostique). Le candidat retenu devra également participer à tous les comités de tumeurs (y compris les comités de tumeurs ORL hebdomadaires) à tour de rôle.   • Être titulaire d'un doctorat en médecine et détenir ou être admissible à un permis d'exercice dans la province de Québec ;
  • Avoir complété une formation de surspécialité en radiologie en Amérique du Nord et être certifié par le Collège royal des médecins et chirurgiens du Canada (ou l'équivalent) ;
  • Avoir complété au moins 6 mois de formation spécialisée en cardiologie (i.e., CT et MRI) ;
  • Faire preuve d'excellence en matière de soins cliniques, d'enseignement et de recherche ;

The Department of Medical Imaging, McMaster University and the Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Hamilton Health Sciences are seeking a full-time academic body imaging radiologist for the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre site. The Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre (JHCC) is one of the largest and most comprehensive Regional Cancer Programs in Ontario, with a large tertiary referral population. The radiology team supports the Juravinski Hospital Oncology service and is committed to providing optimal evidence-based care to patients who are diagnosed with or suspected of having oncologic disease. The hospital also provides a broad range of diagnostic clinical services for adult medicine and surgical subspecialties, with a focus on oncology. This position involves scheduling in tertiary hospital and community practice settings.  Clinical assignments include some general radiology, as well as participation in the Department general radiologist on-call schedule.  Applicants must possess skills which will enhance our tertiary oncology imaging team and multi-disciplinary programs. The ideal applicant will have completed a fellowship in body imaging with training in oncology radiology.  Scheduled work encompasses subspecialty and teaching rounds, including regular participation in multidisciplinary tumour board rounds.  Radiology skills must be inclusive of all imaging modalities. This is a full-time faculty position at McMaster University, with academic rank commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.  The successful candidate will promote clinical scholarship through teaching, mentorship and support for research and will demonstrate excellence in clinical care, exhibit collegial, civil relations in all interactions.   Radiographer - Specialized in Mammography Full Time – Permanent – Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands   Primary Role:
  • The Radiographer uses X-rays, and other forms of imaging technology, such as Mamo, CT, MRI, Dexa and Fluoroscopy, to examine patients. He/she is responsible for acquiring the images. The primary purpose of the Radiographer is to provide information to diagnose patient illnesses by operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs that are accurate and complete and in accordance to the policies and procedures of the hospital.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient; adjusting immobilization devices; moving equipment into specified position; adjusting equipment controls and to set exposure factors abiding by the ALARA principal. Also responsible for assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
  • Performs a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images.
  • Assists in more complex radiological examinations working with radiologists, doctors and surgeons for interventional procedures.
  • Provides support and reassurance to patients, considering their physical and psychological needs by gaining patient cooperation by reducing anxieties; providing explanations of treatment; answering questions.
  • Observe and maintain contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department.
  • Records imaging identification and patient documentation quickly and accurately by observing protocols to ensure compliance with patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations also by understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues. Minimizes radiation to patient and staff by practicing radiation protection techniques, using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment and supplies inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols; following drug protocols in case of reactions to drugs, such as contrast media.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Knowledge Requirements:
  • BSc Radiology
  • Radiography experience of at least 5 years:  skilled in the use of medical technologies such as Mammography, Sono Mammography, MRI, CT, C-ARM and X-Ray as well as performing diagnostic procedures.
  • Must be licensed in one of these jurisdictions; Jamaica, USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia, or have met the Caribbean Regional Registration (RENR) requirements in or to register with the Cayman Islands’ Council for Professions Allied with Medicine (CPAM)
  • Basic Life Support Provider Certification.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure in a stressful environment.
