PEDIATRIC GENERAL RADIOLOGIST WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA The Section of Pediatric Radiology of the Winnipeg Children’s Hospital, Shared Health Manitoba, and Department of Radiology of the University of Manitoba seek fellowship trained Pediatric Radiologists. Full-time and part-time positions are available. The Section of Pediatric Radiology is responsible for all body, musculoskeletal, thoracic, and CNS imaging in pediatric patients. The Section currently conducts 52,568 exams per year, (33,881 plain film, 556 Fluoroscopy, 9189 ultrasound, 3952 MRI and 3903 CT). Seven congenial pediatric Radiologists work in the section (3 full time and 4 part-time). On call duties are shared equally by 7 radiologists.  This posting is to accommodate general increasing demand for services in pediatric radiology, as well as anticipated future increases in service scope to include off site image interpretation to remote and rural areas of Manitoba. On site there are 2 radiography rooms, 1 fluoroscopy suite, 5 ultrasound imaging rooms, 1 CT scanner (Siemens FLASH), 1 MRI (Siemens 1.5 T), and access to a 3T MRI. Employment duties include interpreting a full range of diagnostic imaging studies. We encourage close cooperation with our clinical colleagues with many scheduled clinical-imaging rounds. All section members hold academic appointments with the University of Manitoba. The section prides itself on its dedication to teaching radiology residents, pediatric residents and medical students. Participation in research is encouraged. Future duties may include remote supervision of imaging examinations in Northern and remote communities. The radiology group is expanding to better serve the hospital clinical needs. The radiologists provide on call service to all three hospital sites. The Practice The Department currently has three clinical MR scanners, including a state-of the -art new 3T MR. 4 CT scanners and multiple Ultrasound units. The successful candidate is expected to provide expertise and support along with the other members for Breast Imaging, fluoroscopy, US, CT, X-Ray and MRI.   INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGIST – HAMILTON GENERAL SITE The Hamilton General Hospital is a large tertiary referral centre, with a busy vascular surgical service and Level 1 trauma program.  The preferred candidate will have fellowship training in interventional radiology. The interventional radiology practice includes vascular work (i.e. angiograms, angioplasty/stenting, embolization, thrombectomy/thrombolysis), and non-vascular work (i.e. biopsy, drainage, gastrostomy, GJ tubes, nephrostomy).  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop new services and establish an IR consultation clinic in collaboration with colleagues.  The position also includes some general radiology/body imaging assignments.  The successful candidate should be comfortable with interpretation of vascular ultrasound and CT. The clinic specializes in performing obstetrical ultrasound in a trauma-informed way, with a focus on women’s health and openness to expanding their services in this area. This is a community practice accredited as a Diagnostic Imaging facility with the CPSA (billed fee for service with Alberta Health). The successful candidate will work alongside OBGYNs/Maternal-Fetal Medicine subspecialists and MFM trained sonographers and nursing staff. The Women’s Health Imaging Specialist will be responsible for reviewing ultrasound images, reporting the findings, and consulting with patients as indicated within scope of practice. Additional tasks are needed as per the CPSA standards of practice. This position is more than for women's health imaging.
