Diagnostic Radiology Opportunities in Winnipeg, Manitoba Position Details Manitoba X-Ray Clinic, Winnipeg, Manitoba:
  • Partnership-track full time, hybrid on-site/remote diagnostic radiologist in primarily hospital based practice (academic and non-academic type practice)
  • Minimal weekend (8am - 5 pm) shifts per year (three-five weekends per year)
  • Evening shift from 5pm - 11:30 pm three times per year (or more if preferred) from Saturday evening to Friday evening (ie. 7 nights) with additional reimbursement - please note that neuroradiologists do not participate in this pool and have a separate call schedule
  • Residents cover from 11:30 pm to 8 am
  • Call shifts can be done remotely in the city
  • All areas of expertise are welcome

    • Chest/Cardiothoracic Radiology

Practice Details: Manitoba X-Ray Clinic provides service for St. Boniface, Grace, Concordia and Misericordia hospitals and an outpatient sports medicine facility. The hospital practices are high volume and include CT, X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and MRI (at our two tertiary facilities). General call duties are expected and include coverage of CT, US and Xray during the evening and weekends throughout the year. Call duties are split between all members of the group. Competitive remuneration is offered. Candidates must be eligible for board certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or by eligible for American Board certification. This position offers the unique opportunity to participate in development and growth of pediatric interventional radiology in the Maritime provinces over the coming years.  Participation in diagnostic pediatric, obstetric/ fetal, and pelvic imaging in the daily schedule will be expected as well. Teaching and clinical research are integral parts of the role. The IWK Department of Diagnostic Imaging is affiliated with Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine and offers pediatric radiology and fetal imaging training as a part of residency in Radiology. Additionally, the department supports a Pediatric Radiology Residency Program, accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada). Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills and dedication to advance academic radiology.   • Interpret and report ultrasound imaging studies across various modalities, including MSK, vascular, abdominal, obstetric, and small parts imaging.

Requirements:

CARDIOTHORACIC RADIOLOGIST The Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) is seeking a fellowship trained Cardiothoracic radiologist for a full‐time position to join the Cardiac and Thoracic Imaging Sections. The candidate will serve the three campuses of The Ottawa Hospital, the core adult teaching hospital for the University of Ottawa, as well as affiliated community hospitals and ancillary programs. As part of the Cardiac and Thoracic Imaging Sections, the successful candidate will be responsible to work collaboratively within a highly efficient team providing dedicated Cardiothoracic expertise and interpreting in‐ and outpatient studies. The candidate will require broad skills in all relevant modalities, including radiography, CT, and MRI. They should also have working knowledge of post-processing software including SyngoVia, CVI42 and TeraRecon. The candidate should excel at various thoracic procedures including thoracic biopsies and small-bore chest tube insertions. The successful candidate will provide consultations for the full spectrum of Cardiothoracic diseases. Skills and/or interest in scholarly activity and research are required. They will be expected to be a supportive team player, with a strong commitment to patient care, quality improvement, research, and teaching. The successful candidate will hold certification in Diagnostic Radiology with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent. As the central hub of an integrated regional health system and Canada’s largest teaching and research hospital, TOH is a level 1 trauma, 1,297‐bed tertiary, academic health sciences centre serving a population of 1.2M. The Ottawa Hospital is the core adult teaching hospital for the University of Ottawa. The Department of Medical Imaging, at The Ottawa Hospital is one of 5 departments or divisions and three hospital groups contributing to the academic mission of the Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics, within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa. The Department of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics comprises of approximately 66 Radiologists, 22 Radiation Oncologists, 18 Medical Physicists, 4 scientists (with skills in virtual reality, imaging processing and artificial intelligence), 1 educationalist, 34 radiology residents, and 26 radiology fellows. The Department has an established record of recognized excellence in postgraduate, graduate, and undergraduate Medical Imaging education. The Department oversees a Preclinical Imaging Core equipped with 7T MRI, IVIS, Ultrasound, and PET‐CT facilitating basic science research. The affiliated Ottawa Hospital Research Institute provides world‐class research support and opportunities for collaborative translational Medical Imaging research.         DIAGNOSTIC NEURORADIOLOGIST The Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) is seeking a fellowship trained Neuroradiologist for a full‐time position to join the Diagnostic Neuroradiology Section starting in July 2025. The candidate will serve the three campuses of The Ottawa Hospital, the core adult teaching hospital for the University of Ottawa, as well as affiliated community hospitals and ancillary programs. As part of the Neuroradiology Section, the successful candidate will be responsible to work collaboratively as part of a highly efficient team for providing dedicated Neuroradiology expertise and interpreting in-patients and out-patients studies. The candidate will require broad Neuroradiology skills in all relevant modalities, including CT (320-slice and dual energy), MRI (1.5, 3T) and carotid Doppler studies. The candidate should be able to excel at various spine procedures including vertebroplasty, rhizotomy, and spinal biopsies. Interpretation of advanced MRI Imaging techniques including perfusion, spectroscopy, DTI would also be expected from the candidate. The successful candidate will provide consultations for the full spectrum of Neurologic diseases, trauma, acute stroke, neuro-oncology and Head and Neck radiology.
