Consultant Radiologist (Paediatric) Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora – Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District     Location:  Wellington Regional Hospital, Kenepuru Hospital, Hutt Hospital Service:    Radiology Service Contract:  Permanent, full time Salary:      As per ASMS MECA Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiologist with sub-speciality in Paediatrics to join our experienced Paediatric Radiologist team to deliver high quality Radiology services to the district and wider region. Wellington Regional Hospital is one of New Zealand’s five tertiary medical centres and our radiology department is a recognised training institution for Registrars MITs and Sonographers. An emphasis is placed on teaching, including on-going personal and professional development. Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team The Paediatric Radiologist team work closely and support the Neonatal service, in and outpatient Paediatric services and Paediatric services. The majority of paediatrics services are delivered in the recently completed and wonderful new Te Wao Nui – Child Health service and hospital onsite at Wellington Regional Hospital. Our Paediatric Radiologists are an important part of the wider diagnostic Radiologist team and contribute to the general workload of the department including the diagnostic on-call roster. We also have a close working relationships with our other regional hospitals in Hutt Valley and Wairarapa. Moū – About you
  • Vocationally registered in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
  • Have completed a fellowship or extensive experience in Paediatric Radiology
  • Experienced in diagnostic radiology services including but not limited to:
  • Plain films, Fluoroscopic and special procedures, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Angiography
  • On call component
  • Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
  • Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
  • Relevant experience and training

Requirements to work In New Zealand: To work in New Zealand as a Radiologist you will require:
  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and to gain a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Solid experience in general imaging, preferably in a larger centre but this is not essential.
  • All applicants must be able to meet the conditions of registration with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board.

The Timmins and District Hospital (TADH) is recruiting for a full-time or part-time Radiologist to join our innovative, multi-disciplinary referral and teaching hospital in Timmins, Ontario, located in Northeastern Ontario. About the Timmins and District Hospital TADH is a 154-bed referral and teaching hospital. It offers multidisciplinary care in the areas of emergency, medical, surgical, critical care, maternity, newborn, pediatric, long-term care, and mental health services. TADH provides care to a catchment population of approximately 115,000 people. The Diagnostic Imaging Department is equipped with a fluoroscopy suite, several ultrasound machines, a 320 slice Canon CT and a 1.5T Siemens MRI unit. The department offers some minor non-vascular interventional services, which are assigned along with other diagnostic studies on a rotational basis. If not trained, willingness to participate and obtain training for CT colonography and BMD certification will be considered an asset. The Timmins and District Hospital supports approximately 95,000 annual diagnostic exams. TADH radiologists practice in a true consultative manner with the referring physicians and communities. Remote reading from outside of Timmins is not part of our practice. Position Requirements
  • Candidates must have Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada certification in Radiology
  • Applicants must be eligible to be licensed to practice in the Province of Ontario and have Canadian Medical Protective Associate (CMPA) coverage
  • Established training and skills in reporting all imaging modalities including: x-ray, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MRI
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to converse with clinicians and staff at different sites regarding patient care is essential

If the candidate has additional specialty training in any field, these skills would be of an added benefit and utilized. There is a call expectation as well and responsibilities are shared with the Radiology Resident - Core services include general radiography, ultrasound, CT, MRI and basic interventional radiology. Breast imaging is also provided as a service and would be open to candidates with appropriate training and experience. The Department of Medical Imaging at Western University is an integrated city-wide sub-specialty practice across the three Hospital sites: University Hospital (UH) and Victoria Hospital (VH), collectively known as the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), and St. Joseph’s Health Care London (St. Joseph’s). The Department provides multiple regional services to a population of >2M. The successful candidate will have completed a Fellowship in Body Imaging Radiology, must have an interest in academic radiology and will need to be committed to outstanding quality in clinical operations, including patient care, teaching and research. The academic component of this position is predominately located at LHSC – (one position at University Hospital; one position at Victoria Hospital) and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. One day of protected academic time to support research and teaching is provided. Body Imaging: Division Head – Zahra Kassam The successful candidate will join a division of 31 dedicated Body Imaging radiologists. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate successful team building skills in addition to the advanced diagnostic and interventional skills required for this position. There are excellent established collaborations across all affiliated Body Imaging disciplines with frequent participation in multi-disciplinary rounds and a full complement of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Infrastructure: City wide fleet replacement with state-of-the-art Computed Tomography (six Aquilion ONE 320 Genesis Edition, and one Aquilion Prime), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (three 3.0T, and three 1.5T), interventional angiography suites (three biplane and four single plane units), and Ultrasound units in combination with strong Industry-Academic partnerships will strengthen the academic mission. Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold certification in Diagnostic Radiology with the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada or international equivalent and will need to meet the current credentialing requirements of LHSC and St. Joseph’s. Candidates must have an MD, or equivalent, and must be eligible for licensure in the province of Ontario. Subspecialty Fellowship training in Body Imaging is required. Additional sub-specialty expertise in another area will be a distinct advantage. Rank and appointment status (limited term or continuing) will be determined by experience and qualifications at the time of appointment. The Department of Medical Imaging at Western University is an integrated city-wide sub-specialty practice across the three Hospital sites: University Hospital (UH) and Victoria Hospital (VH), collectively known as the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), and St. Joseph’s Health Care London (St. Joseph’s). As the only Academic Health Sciences Centre in the second largest Local Health Integration Network in Ontario, the Department provides multiple regional services to a population of >2M. There are opportunities for an enthusiastic radiologist to contribute to the building of an integrated, multidisciplinary and collegial Academic Medical Imaging Department in the Musculoskeletal Division. Position Profile: The successful candidate will be appointed in a full-time limited term Clinical Academic appointment in the Department of Medical Imaging at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. The successful candidate will take an active role in the Citywide Musculoskeletal Imaging Subspecialty Division and must be dedicated to outstanding quality in clinical operations, demonstrate leadership, teaching and/or research abilities. The successful candidate will have completed a Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Radiology, must have an interest in academic radiology and will need to be committed to outstanding quality in clinical operations, including patient care, teaching, and research. The academic component of this position is predominately located at LHSC - University Hospital and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. One day of protected academic time to support research and teaching is provided. Consideration of applicants will include an assessment of previous performance, qualifications which go beyond the requirements for the position, and experience.
