EuroSafe Imaging 2025 Webinar Series: Optimisation in Computed Tomography (CT) – The Dos and Don’ts.
This year’s series consists of 4 episodes and focuses on practical strategies to optimise CT imaging across different anatomical areas. Each session will help radiologists, radiographers and medical physicists improve their skills and knowledge on:
- How to secure adequate diagnostic image quality in CT scans
- Avoiding image artefacts and finding an optimal balance between radiation exposure and image quality
- Identifying common and uncommon causes of unnecessary radiation dose increase in CT
- To be able to select the appropriate protocol according to the clinical information
All webinars are free for ESR members and are CME-accredited.
Please find the webinar topics and dates below:
Head CT – Tuesday, 14 October 2025 | 18:00–19:20 CET

International Day of Radiology 2025
On November 8, medical imaging professionals from across the world will celebrate the 14th International Day of Radiology (IDoR 2025). We encourage all radiologists, radiographers, radiological technologists, professionals in other related fields and patient groups to join together on this day to recognise and promote the essential role that radiology plays in the patient journey.

Patient Safety Day 2025
Every child has the right to safe, quality health care — from the very beginning. Yet, newborns and young children face higher risks due to their rapid development, evolving health needs and different disease patterns. They rely on adults to speak up and make decisions for them. Children may also face added challenges depending on their socio-economic circumstances, such as not being able to get the care they need. These factors make them more susceptible to harm if care isn’t specifically adapted to their age, size, health condition and context.
A single safety incident can have lifelong consequences for a child’s health and development. That’s why World Patient Safety Day 2025 is dedicated to ensuring safe care for every newborn and child, with a special focus on those from birth to nine years old. This year’s slogan, “Patient safety from the start!”, emphasizes the urgent need to act early and consistently to prevent harm throughout childhood, and yield benefits across the life course.
WHO calls on parents, caregivers, health practitioners, health care leaders, educators and communities, to unite in action to prevent avoidable harm in paediatric care and to build a safer, healthier future for every child, as part of the global effort to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 3.
Symposium on Monitoring Radiation Exposure in Medical Imaging 2024
The aims of this symposium are as follows:
- To provide a platform to discuss and disseminate best practices and guidelines related to radiation dose monitoring among healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers and encourage interdisciplinary collaboration.
- To highlight technological advancements and innovations in radiation monitoring tools and software.
- To develop recommendations to help provincial and national authorities in adopting better practices in radiation dose monitoring
