Mission
The Breast Radiologists of Canada (BRC) is a network of radiologists and trainees dedicated to promoting and advancing breast imaging. The society strives to promote excellence and share knowledge in diagnostic and interventional breast imaging. It also aims to facilitate networking and collaboration to support education, research, guideline development, and shared priorities in breast imaging across the country.
Goals
- Advocate for resources and support to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred breast imaging care across Canada.
- Provide ongoing educational opportunities and resources to support the continuing professional development for breast radiologists and trainees.
- Facilitate collaboration among breast imaging radiologists to identify emerging research priorities, advance innovation, and develop evidence-based practice guidelines.
- Foster mentorship, networking, and leadership to strengthen collaboration and support career growth within the breast imaging community.
President’s Message
It is an honour and privilege to serve as the inaugural President of the new Breast Radiologists of Canada (BRC) Affiliate Society of the Canadian Association of Radiologists.
I am the Provincial Medical Director of Breast Imaging for the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the Radiologist Director for the Saskatoon City Hospital Breast Health Centre, and the Radiologist Lead for the CAR Mammography Accreditation Program. Over the years, my career as a breast radiologist and my involvement with the CAR have allowed me to collaborate in diverse academic and clinical settings across Canada.
These experiences have deepened my appreciation for the unique strengths and collaborative spirit of breast imagers in this country.
The BRC was founded to raise the profile of Canadian breast radiologists, both among our peers nationally and on the international stage. For our members, we hope the society will serve as a mentor and resource to support your clinical work, foster professional growth, and create a vibrant community for breast imaging across Canada.
Amidst a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, it is vital for us as radiologists to maintain the highest standards of patient care and innovation in breast imaging. The BRC is committed to upholding excellence through evidence-based practice guidelines and educational initiatives addressing the needs of both established radiologists and trainees.
I am joined by an outstanding Executive Committee in launching this new society. Together, we are dedicated to representing and advancing the interests of all breast radiologists in Canada. I invite you to become an active member of the BRC, and to help us build a connected, engaged, and forward-looking community.
