New and Exciting Enhancements for CAR 2027

Each year, the insights we receive from participant feedback surveys inform our efforts to make the next Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) even better. There are some new initiatives in place for CAR 2027, happening in Montréal from April 1-4, 2027.

Educational Tracks

CAR 2027 is introducing dedicated educational tracks that will help participants find sessions suited to their learning needs and career stage. Informed by the ASM Evaluation and Membership Survey, this will enhance the participant’s experience by providing greater clarity, supporting personalized learning, and improving navigation of the scientific program.

ASM Planning Committee Chair Dr. Christopher Fung has appointed Track Leads who have ensured the content aligns with the track’s intended audience and objectives.

  • Trainee/Early Career Track: Drs. Kathleen MacMillan and Andrew Szava-Kovats
  • Core Track: Dr. Bruno Morin
  • Subspecialized Track: Dr. Ismail Ali

As subject matter experts, the Track Leads played an integral role in shaping the program content by serving as a resource for session presenters and providing feedback to ensure sessions are balanced, relevant, and educationally impactful. They have also advised the Planning Committee on potential gaps and opportunities to further enhance the strength and quality of each track.

Case of the Day Contest

The Case of the Day Contest is an engaging new self-assessment learning activity. Participants will be presented with a series of clinically relevant, image-based cases designed to assess knowledge, interpretation, and clinical reasoning at approximately the PGY-4 level. Upon submitting their responses, they will receive expert answers and rationales, review their individual performance, identify learning needs, and develop a plan for further learning. Correct responses for each case will be included in a draw for prizes, and of course – bragging rights.

Submit Your Case

Beginning in November, radiologists and trainees are welcome to submit educationally valuable cases for consideration as a Case of the Day. These should present a clear learning opportunity and help participants strengthen their diagnostic reasoning through structured self-assessment and expert feedback.

Stay tuned for more details on how to submit.

Pre-Conference Workshops on Thursday, April 1, 2027

The ASM Planning Committee is pleased to offer two in-person ultrasound workshops led by renowned experts in the fields of musculoskeletal ultrasound and liver elastography. These half-day, hands-on workshops are designed for practicing radiologists and will feature didactic lectures and demonstrations in a small group setting.

MSK US Workshop | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET

This workshop is structured to simulate real-case reporting while providing an overview of common pathologies, techniques, and protocols for shoulder and ankle ultrasound.

Liver Elastography | 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM ET

The goal of the workshop is to provide participants with a liver elastography “how to” where participants will learn elastography fundamentals, expected results, and interpretation.
