The CAR has become a member of Research Canada and is pleased to announce this new collaboration.
Research Canada is a “national alliance dedicated to strengthening Canada’s health research and innovation ecosystem” that works with the federal government to make sure that key health priorities and policies remain in focus for federal decision makers.
“We are excited to be members of Research Canada and believe that this partnership aligns with the CAR’s strategic mandate of advancing radiology in Canada,” said President Dr. Alison Harris.
The CAR joins a large contingent of local, national, and provincial healthcare organizations and Not-For-Profits who are also members of Research Canada.
“Ultimately, we want the priorities of Canadian radiologists and patients to be heard and understood by decision makers on Parliament Hill,” said Dr. Harris.
A significant way in which Research Canada can reach pivotal government officials is the Parliamentary Health Research Caucus (PHRC) – a non-partisan forum that centres health research in national policy discussions.
“Research Canada has a long history of empowering research and translating discovery in healthcare into tangible solutions that can inform our advocacy efforts.”
The CAR looks forward to working with Research Canada to improve healthcare policy in Canada and health outcomes for Canadian patients.
