The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at Queen’s University and its affiliated teaching hospitals is seeking a full-time Academic Radiologist with fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Radiology. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive adult pulmonary and cardiovascular imaging services, including radiography, CT, MRI, and image-guided chest interventions. The role also includes multidisciplinary collaboration, teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, and participation in scholarly research and departmental clinical activities at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and Providence Care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consultations and procedures across the full spectrum of cardiothoracic imaging, including radiography, CT, MRI, and CT-guided lung, mediastinal, and pleural biopsies. Participate in weekly multidisciplinary chest conferences and collaborate with Respirology, Thoracic Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, and Cardiac Surgery. Contribute to the teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows; participate in research and scholarly activities; support departmental quality and academic initiatives; and participate in the Department’s Body/Plain Films on-call schedule.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold an MD degree or equivalent and be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to candidates who hold, or are eligible for, certification in Diagnostic Radiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Fellowship training, expertise, and experience in Cardiothoracic Radiology are required. Candidates must demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching, scholarly research, and effective work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative academic healthcare environment.
