One of the most prestigious awards for interventional radiology was given to a CAR member.
The CAR is proud to congratulate Dr. Sebastian Mafeld, Assistant Professor and interventional radiologist at the University of Toronto, on receiving the Kenneth W. Sniderman Award in Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Kenneth Sniderman being awarded the Medal of Bravery after saving a drowning stranger trapped beneath a boat.

The award recognizes radiologists who have a passion for interventional radiology and demonstrate a history of excellence and a humanistic approach to patient care.
“I am incredibly honoured to receive this award,” said Dr. Mafeld. “Receiving an award that bears Dr. Sniderman’s name is a wonderful reminder of Dr. Sniderman’s values, passion for interventional radiology, excellence in patient care, and dedication to teaching.”
Named after one of Canada’s most prominent interventional radiologists, the award represents Dr. Sniderman’s decades of dedication and his impact on clinical research in angiography and interventional radiology.
