Resident and Fellow Section Chair
Dr. Chloe DesRoche

Dr. DesRoche is a PGY2 Diagnostic Radiology resident at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She completed her medical degree at Queen’s University after earning both undergraduate and master’s degrees in Computer Science, specializing in biomedical computing and computational image analysis.
Dr. DesRoche has been actively involved with the CAR throughout her training, serving as Medical Student Network Coordinator and on the RFS Executive, Queen’s CAR RFS representative and is a member of the Education Subcommittee. Dr. DesRoche also holds the Educational Portfolio Lead position with the Canadian Association of Interventional Radiology (CAIR) RFS. Additionally, she contributes to the CAR Environmental Sustainability Working Group and has authored multiple manuscripts on environmental sustainability in radiology.
Prior to medical school, Dr. DesRoche represented Canada in rowing. She has also raced as a competitive road cyclist and more recently taken up gravel cycling. Outside of radiology, she enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing, trail running, reading, and painting.

Dr. Rui Ning Gong – Past Chair

Dr. Rui Ning Gong is a third-year Diagnostic Radiology resident at Université de Montréal. She has been deeply involved in the Canadian Association of Radiologists Resident and Fellow Section (CAR RFS), where she currently serves as Chair. In her previous roles as Secretary-Treasurer and co-lead of the Education Subcommittee, she helped implement national educational initiatives and played a key role in organizing the CAR Virtual Trainee Day.
Within her residency program, Dr. Gong serves as Assistant Chief Resident and actively contributes to medical education by delivering lectures and mentoring junior trainees. She also brings valuable advocacy experience through her role as a delegate for the Montreal Residents’ Physicians Association (AMRM), where she advocates for the training and working conditions of Quebec residents.
As Chair of the CAR RFS, Dr. Gong is committed to enhancing training opportunities and strengthening engagement among residents and fellows by developing educational and networking initiatives tailored to the various stages of postgraduate training.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys exploring new places, traveling, and getting competitive over board games.
Dr. Farouk Benadada – Secretary-Treasurer

Dr. Farouk Benadada is a second-year Diagnostic Radiology resident at Université Laval in Quebec City. He completed his medical degree at Université de Montréal. Throughout his medical journey, he has been deeply passionate about medical imaging and has consistently advocated for his peers, the improvement of medical education, and global health.
Dr. Benadada has served as the CAR RFS Institutional Representative for his program over the past year and actively volunteers as a mentor in the CAR Medical Student Network Mentorship Program.
Committed to fostering a strong team-building spirit, his primary goal is to empower the RFS executive committee and CAR members nationwide. He aims to help trainees confidently create, lead, and implement dynamic initiatives focused on radiology education, innovation, and well-being throughout the year.
When he is away from his computer, he enjoys hockey, biking, and discovering new foods.
Dr. Jack Karp – Fellow Representative

Dr. Karp is an incoming PGY-5 radiology resident at the University of Pennsylvania. He grew up in Vancouver and went to medical school in Dublin. Last year, he served on the CAR RFS as the International Representative. He is pursuing a pediatric radiology fellowship at SickKids starting in the summer of 2027 and is looking forward to taking on the role of CAR RFS Fellow Representative for the 2026/27 term.
Dr. Hari Randhawa – International Resident Representative

Dr. Hari Randhawa is a PGY-2 Diagnostic Radiology resident at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed the 6-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine and a transitional year at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, California.
Within his residency program, Dr. Randhawa is part of the IT committee, learning how to be an efficient user of technology in the reading room and helping his colleagues do the same. With interests in breast imaging and LGBTQ+ healthcare, he has collaborated with the breast imaging center at his institution to increase awareness of the guidelines for breast cancer screening in transgender patients and facilitated learning sessions with the breast imaging technologists on interacting respectfully with transgender patients.
As the International Representative for the RFS of the CAR, Dr. Randhawa is excited to act as a bridge between international and Canadian trainees. This role is borne out of and informs his interest in the differences between the healthcare systems in the United States and Canada. Outside of work, Dr. Randhawa is an avid reader of long-form investigative journalism and queer fiction. He enjoys seeing movies at the small local theater in Pittsburgh with his husband.”
Dr. Jimin Lee – MSN Coordinator

Dr. Lee is a PGY-1 Diagnostic Radiology resident at the University of Toronto. She completed her MD-MSc in Health Systems Leadership and Innovation at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Lee previously served on the MSN Committee as Secretary-Treasurer and Student Lead. She has also been actively involved with volunteer initiatives within CAR, including the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Working Group and the Environmental Sustainability Working Group.
As the incoming CAR MSN Coordinator, Dr. Lee hopes to connect with medical students across Canada to introduce the field of radiology and provide mentorship.
