This CHAR National Grand Rounds session will be hosted by Dalhousie University.

With the exponential increase in CT use, radiologists are diagnosing more lung cancer, often incidentally. This presentation reviews recent advances in the understanding of lung cancer imaging focusing on the CT findings most likely to be misdiagnosed. The session also includes a short analysis of the role of the radiologist beyond that of a medical expert. Radiologists must navigate challenges such as patient portals, medical misinformation, inability to meet wait time standards, and hospital/college complaints. The responsibilities we shoulder and the moral distress we experience may be accompanied by a sense of limited influence over the institutional systems within which we work.
