2012 ASM
75th Anniversary of the CAR Annual Scientific Meeting
April 26 to 29, 2012
Meeting Overview
In 2012, the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) will be celebrating the 75th Anniversary of its Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). The meeting will take place from April 26 to 29, 2012 at Le Centre Sheraton in Montreal, Quebec.
The CAR has developed a program focusing on Innovation in Imaging, a theme deemed to be of prominent interest by Canadian radiologists at past annual meetings. The program sessions will look towards the future of the profession, as well as the significant radiological innovations of the past 75 years. Featuring an impressive roster of national and international speakers, the comprehensive program will cover relevant topics for today’s radiologists and radiologists-in-training.
Among the excellent speakers, this year's keynote speakers are:
Marcia Javitt, MD
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences
Robert Novelline, MD
Harvard Medical School

Spondyloarthritis Imaging Simulation Workshop
As part of the programme, a special Spondyloarthritis Imaging Simulation Workshop will be offered to those who enrol when registering for the meeting. The workshop delivers a full immersion into one of the fundamental components of radiographic interpretation, offering a vast selection of cases for all levels of experience and expertise. Focusing on the manifestations of spondyloarthritis in the axial skeleton, the workshop will be conducted by Dr. Robert Lambert from the University of Alberta.
Resident Hot Seat Sessions
These small group sessions for radiology residents who have pre-registered for this opportunity are a highlight. Residents will be asked to interpret a series of images in a simulated setting, which will be followed by practical feedback from experts.
Residents are to enrol for these sessions upon registering for the ASM. The registration fee to participate in this session is $25 plus taxes in addition to the ASM resident registration fee.
